The Living Landscape – Inishowen Head Guided Cultural Walks in The Donegal Landscape,

SATURDAY 23rd of JULY • 10AM • €15,  M E E T I N G P O I N T – C A R  P A R K  A T

I N I S H O W E N  HEAD,  NORTH OF STROOVE  LIGHTHOUSE,

On this northwestern  tip of Donegal, this exhilarating walk begins at a World War 2 Lookout Tower atop Inishowen Head. On this wild and remote loop walk you pass the point from where St Columba left Ireland on his way to Iona (Portkill) and a viewing point from where, on some fine days, the west of Scotland is visible. The 3 hour / 8km hike will take you along the cliff paths and the weather battered slopes where the land drops into the crashing waves of the wild North Atlantic. A great place to blow the cobwebs away! This is a Grade 3 walk, suitable for walkers of moderate fitness. Terrain: Bog roads, lane ways, rough tracks and minor roads.
