A Popular walk of the locals is the old Light Gauge Railway walk, Leaving by bus from Letterkenny, we will take you to the beginning of your walk , with Muckish Mountain on your left, as you walk the track, try to imagine what it was like to be sitting on the old Mhuc Dubh railway, as it rattled its way westwards to its next destination. Spot the miner’s path and learn its history, which is still visibly etched into the shoulder of this majestic mountain and discover Lough Agher and the Shepard’s lodge . This is a Grade 3 walk, suitable for walkers of moderate fitness. Duration 3.5 hours.
